Retro Grave live at The Press Room in Portsmouth, New Hampshire celebrating Portsmouth Beer Week on Thursday, March 1st with Allagash Brewery, Smuttynose Brewery, Red Hook Brewery, Sebago Brewery and more. We hope to see you there to rock with us and enjoy the best craft brews in New England and afar.

Cover charge will be $5. 100% of the door goes to HeAT, a local Portsmouth charity. 21+ after 9PM.

Retro Grave Schedules Debut Show

January 13, 2010

RETRO GRAVE will debut their first live show at The Studio at Webster Hall in New York City, New York on Saturday, April 23. Doors open at 7:00PM. Also appearing on the bill are KAYO DOT and GNAW. Tickets are $10 and are available at TicketWeb. 

Comments Olson:"I started RETRO GRAVE back in 2006 so this debut show is very exciting for me. I have not played a show since 2008, with TROUBLE, so I'm hungry to play live again! I'm also honored to share the stage with GNAW and KAYO DOT. These two bands are great art metal bands with so much incredible talent... I'm counting the days. Stay tuned for the after party club information."

As previously noted, RETRO GRAVE will appear at the Days Of The Doomed Fest set to take place June 17-18, 2011 at The P.L.A.V. in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Commented Olson:"I'm very excited to play for our friends in the mid west for the Days Of The Doom Fest. It's going to be great to perform on stage again. I've missed that! In addition, because I live in southern Maine, I have not yet had the chance to see my longtime TROUBLE friends, Eric Wagner and Ron Holzner perform with their new bands, Blackfinger and Earthen Grave. I'm looking forward to see them again as well as the latest up and coming bands in the doom scene. Stay tuned for Retro Grave's debut show to be held in New York City soon with my friends from GNAW."

Heady Metal With Jeff Olson To Premiere July 5th!

Oly will be premiering his radio show, "Heady Metal with Jeff Olson," via Metal Messiah Radio on Monday, June 05 from 7PM-9PM.

Heady Metal with Jeff Olson is Olson's first radio show endeavor and will feature interviews from musicians from different metal genres across-the-board, comedic segments, music news and give-a-ways. The show will air weekly, after the premiere, on Mondays from 7PM-9PM followed by an encore on Saturday's from 8AM-10AM on Metal Messiah Radio.

Olson has been writing and recording in the music industry since the formation of Trouble (1979) and holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Film Scoring, Cum Laude, from Berklee College of Music.

Regarding Misprint On Trouble Album

Many people have been writing and asking about the European vinyl pressing of Trouble's 'Live in LA' album from High Roller Records.  The album states that Mark Lira is playing drums on that album, but it is indeed myself performing entirely. In addition, the band photo (below) was taken at the show, but not printed on the album (Lira's photos were posted instead). Yes, it is also my kit on the back cover of the album from my last show with Trouble at The End Club in Nashville (July 2008). High Roller Records has apologized to me for this error and has promised to make the corrections if more albums are pressed. I understand that this was only a mistake and there are no hard feelings about it at all. I hope this now clears it all up.

"Doing the interviews for our Hall of Fame story on Trouble's  Psalm 9 [Dec 09 #62], we were intrigued to discover that the band's former drummer, Jeff "Oly" Olson, worked at Allagash Brewing-- makers of fine Belgian-style brews-- in Portland, Maine. Though we didn't get to talk beer at the time, this was a revelation (cheap Trouble reference intended) that required following up. And what better time than the recent release of a new full-length CD, 'Again,' by multi-instrumentalist Olson's (mostly) solo project, Retro Grave." - Adem Tepedelen.

The debut full length, "Again," will be released on February 09, 2010. The cover artwork was completed by graphic designer, Ben Crowley which features Van Gogh's, "Skull." The cover track listing can be viewed on the Music and Merch page.

New Member Announced

RETRO GRAVE has recruited a new string player, Michael Leonard Maiewski (STASIS). Leonard is currently writing with Olson for the second RETRO GRAVE album, titled "Skullduggery," tentatively scheduled for a 2011 release.
